"Battlefield Detectives: Masada"

A mountain fortress built by King Herod, Masada rises from the Judean desert of Israel close to the Dead Sea -- a seemingly impregnable ancient stronghold located in an incredibly dramatic location. Two thousands years ago, a band of Jewish freedom fighters defied the might of the Roman legions at Masada for three years, choosing death over slavery. Nine hundred, sixty men, women and children eventually committed suicide rather than submit to their Roman conquerors. Or did they? This documentary re-examines the archaeological evidence as experts piece together a new story of the siege of Masada, one that threatens to overturn a legend.

"Journey to the Heart of the Tsunami"

This is a documentary about events on December 26, 2004, when the world realized just how dangerous our planet could be to our very fragile existence. Our survival on earth ultimately depends on how much we understand about the devastating power Mother Nature holds. In response to the enormous scale of the tsunami disaster, the producers of this program have put together a team of the world's leading scientists to try to discover exactly what happened that day. Their goal is to try to prevent such a human tragedy from happening again. They'll use new evidence from an underwater exploration as they investigate the ocean seabed. Their ultimate task: to know when it will happen again - and where it will happen next. Through a journey miles below the surface of the Indian Ocean, this specialized team of scientists is hoping to find the answers that could save millions of lives.
