Hey, Whyvillians, Ronnie102 here! I noticed the last article in the times about movie recommendations and I thought I'd do a follow up article. Here are some other recomendations for other bored nights:

Drama
Movies such as Schindler's List (for the older ones) and Ladder 49 are wonderful dramas that are worth watching anytime. Ladder 49 (PG-13) is one of my personal favorites along with Million Dollar Baby (PG-13). The edited version of Good Will Hunting (PG-13) is also a wonderful drama. How do you like them apples?

Sci-fi
If you feel like going to the theater on the weekends then definitely check out Serenity (PG-13). Star Wars (PG-13) and Spiderman (PG-13) are also good sci-fi flicks with drama and action mixed in. Also try Sphere (PG-13) and Jurassic Park (PG-13). The books were amazing so if you like the movies then check the books out as well. (Seriously, read them! Ian Malcolm is one of my favorite literary characters.) They give a more in depth look into the movies and characters.

Fantasy
Well, I've got to plug Lord of the Rings (PG-13) because it's one of my favorite movies/books. The trilogy runs a good nine hours so it can definitely kill off a lot of your time. Harry Potter (PG) is another fantasy movie/book series that is worth checking out. Both the books and the movies are wonderful time fillers.

Romance
I know it's cliche but Titanic (PG-13) and The Notebook (PG-13) are wonderful romance films. Both can also fit into the Drama category as well. Sleepless in Seattle (PG-13) is another romance/comedy that's more on the lighter side.

Action
Paycheck (PG-13) and The Fugitive (PG-13) are some of my favorite action films. Martial arts based films also fit into this category and that brings in too many Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies to count. I'd recommend reading the backs of some of the movies to see which ones interest you. National Treasure (PG-13) and Pirates of the Caribbean (PG-13 and highly recommended!) are some other amazing action movies.

Comedy
Films like Napoleon Dynamite (PG) and Ducky Soup (PG)can be funny, as well as other films such as Surviving Christmas (PG-13) and Taxi (PG-13). Season One and Two of Gilmore Girls is also very funny.

Horror
White Noise (PG-13) is the first horror film that comes to mind. Movies like Signs can appeal to the sci-fi lovers. House of Wax (the old version) creeped me out, but then again I was only 11 when I saw it. One movie that I will not recommend for this category is The Village (PG-13). If you want to get scared, don't rent this.

Anime
I added this category in so that I could get a good variety. I know there are a lot of anime lovers out there so here are a few good titles. Inuyasha 1 and 2 (PG), Cowboy Bepop:The Movie (PG-13), Spirited Away (PG), and Case Closed: The Series (PG).

I hope that helps you with your movie selections. And remember, there are so many good movies out there, but there are just as many, if not more good books, so don't just rely on TV for entertainment.

Signing off,
Ronnie102
