Do. Re. Me. Fa. So. La. Ti. Do.
You know, music is so important to us! Without it, there would be no sound. Music is a part of our thoughts, how we speak, our voices, the list could go on! You hear it when the birds chirp, your little brother whistles off-key, a train passes by -- it's music!
Playing an instrument is beautiful, and has a beautiful sound when you play it correctly. If you are one of those people, like me, that listens to the orchestra, closes your eyes and is swept away by the music, you will understand what I'm talking about. If not, take time to listen to the music, it's fantastic!
Before I make a poem out of this, I asked our fellow whyvillians what they think about music and if they play an instrument or sing:
First I interviewed Holiday50:
Maglina: What instrument do you play, and why did you choose to play that?
Holiday50: I play the keyboard and flute. I chose to learn to play both of these instruments because I like the way they sound.
Maglina: How long have you been playing?
Holiday50: I've been playing flute for a year and the keyboard for about three years.
Maglina: How do you think music influences our lives?
Holiday50: I think music is a way of expressing ourselves. It's a way to expess our emotions, creativity, originality and different issues. Every song has a message. Music entertains us and can be fun, sad, and happy.
I totally agree with those answers! After that, I interviewed comedy27:
Maglina: What instrument do you play, and why did you choose to play that?
comedy27: Saxophone, because my mom did when she was my age. I also did not have to pay because she still had old Sam (the saxophone).
Maglina: Sam the saxophone. How awesome! How long have you been playing Sam?
comedy27: Almost two years.
Maglina: How do you think music influences our lives?
comedy27: To say it the best I can, without exceeding the character limit, greatly, and happily.
Then, BreeBree2 was up:
Maglina: What instrument do you play, and why did you choose to play that?
BreeBree2: I play the drums, because they seemed so fun, and they are!
Maglina: Oh, totally! I jam on my brother's . . . though, I get carried away and have to stop. =p Anyway, how long have you been palying the drums?
BreeBree2: Umm, about five years!
Maglina: Wow, dude! That's a long time! So, how does music influence your life?
BreeBree2: It helps me learn music and helps us not to be boring!
Alright, so then I thought, well, instruments aren't the only way to make music! You can sing as well. So, I went off to search for Whyvillians that sing!
First, my victim of the second part of this article was tobygirl5:
Maglina: How long have you been singing?
tobygirl5: I have been singing since third grade. I think it is a challenge to sing because it is kind of like homework, if you know what I mean it can be difficult, but fun at the same time.
Maglina: Ahh, yes I know what you mean. So, how does music influence our lives?
tobygirl5: It sets the mood each day of our lives
Then, I interviewed doubled27:
Maglina: How long have you been singing?
doubled27: I've been singing for about four years.
Maglina: How does music influence our lives?
doubled27: I don't know about you, but music expresses and completes me, especially music.
Cool answer! Then, 123Bay123 was next:
Maglina: How long have you been singing?
123Bay123: I've been singing around two years I think.
Maglina: How do you think music influences our lives?
123Bay123: I think music influences our lives and brings happiness and joy to people, especially me.
Now, get a load of this! One particular Whyvillian not only sings, but plays three instruments as well:
Maglina: What instrument do you play, and why did you choose to play that?
scooter95: Well, Maglina, I actually play three instruments! I play the piano, flute, and violin. I chose to play all three because I thought the sound they made was graceful and calming. I love to hear people say to me, "You know, you play so well!"
Maglina: WOAH! Talk about multi-tasking! How long have you been playing?
scooter95: I have been playing piano for four years, violin for three, and flute for less than one. I also sing, and I started singing as soon as I started to talk!
Maglina: Haha! Girl power! So, how do you think music influences our lives?
scooter95: I think music itself influences our lives because you know, it's someting to be proud of, and the thought of singing and/or playing an instrument is like, "Hey, this is pretty cool because not all my friends or not all my classmates do this!"
I give props to you scoot!
Music influences our lives so much! They have happy music, mellow, shy, depressing music, etc. I don't even want to think where we'd be without music!
Maglina was here . . . but is now listening to her Disney soundtracks.
