Hello! This is Punky07, and I am going to share with you some tips on how to stay calm, focused, and prepared during finals week.

Even if you do not go to High School, chances are, you have some sort of assesment going on in your classes towards the middle of the year. One of the hardest things to do, is stay focused, and collected throughout this time. Even if there is some material you did not understand during the year, there is always time to prepare before the big day!

1) Get some extra sleep.
Even if your favorite television show is on, or you are waiting for a phone call, during your big tests you want to make sure to get at least eight to nine hours of uninterrupted sleep, so you wake up refreshed and not groggy.

2) Eat a good breakfast.
Studies show that if you eat in the morning, you will be more mentally stimulated, awake, and will not be worring about how hungry you are during the test, which will help you stay focused. I know how hard and frantic it can be to get ready in the mornings, rushing so you don't miss your bus, or ride to school. That's where rule number one will help you out, getting some extra sleep will help you feel less rushed in the morning, and you might even be able to get up a little earlier to cook a healthy breakfast. Be sure to try planning your meals on Whyville, too! See if your meals are too big or too small for your height and body weight.

3) Don't cram.
Try to take at least one weekend off from your regular schedule, stay home, and prepare yourself for your finals. Study a minimum of two to three hours for each individual final, so you are fully prepared. Waiting until the last minute will not do much good.

4) Don't stay awake all night studying.
There are appropriate times for studying, and at two in the morning, is not one of them. Your brain can not hold all the information being forced into it when you are mentally exhausted after your long day.

5) Don't freak out!
Stay calm! This is not the end, you will pass go, you will collect $200.

If you follow these tips, you can make it! Finals are a great way to tell how much you have learned througout the semester, quarters, trimesters, etc. You will do better on some finals than others, but no worries. You can do this!

This is Punky07.
Until next time, Whyville.
