Have you ever noticed how many people really do take freedom for granted. In the U.S. you can talk about how much you hate your president and how stupid he is, but in other countries you would get shot.
In fact, in some countries you can be shot for wearing glasses because the leader of the country thinks that you may get smarter than them. I remember watching a television show a couple of years ago and a man from a third world country in Africa came to America. The first thing he found weird is finding money on the ground. Pretend you're walking down the street and find something shiny. It's a nickle ,and you just toss it away because it's not worth a lot. Well in some countries that nickle would be food for a whole day.
The second thing he found weird is a pet aisle in a grocery store. Now imagine you just came from a country where you can't even feed yourself, and finding a pet food aisle!
Another thing he found weird is a diet. People in America are cutting back on food while people in third world countries are trying to get some!
In a lot of countries, women are nothing but property. Women can't vote, speak without permission, or go outside without there husband telling them they can. It's even okay to beat their wives and there's nothing women can do to stop them.
Education may also be taken for granted in the U.S. An immigrant came to the U.S. for school and he was amazed to see children sitting on book's while in their country, books were really rare. In other countries the teachers would beat the student if they did bad. In America, if a teacher lays a hand on you, you can sue them.
I want you to remember something for me. Whenever you go to throw out your food after eating, and you're full, try to remember that every second, six children are dying from hunger while you're throwing all that good food out.
