Ladies and Gentlemen, the Great Blackout Contest draws to a close.
First, a little background...
The contest was launched to commemorate Whyville's historic Black Out, which lasted from Jan 20, 2001 to Feb 5, 2001. During this dark period, Whyvillians were lost in etherspace, unable to touch base with the city, unable to contact each other. It was a time of pain, fear, and confusion.
But in the tradition of Whyville, Whyvillians manage to turn every event, however dark, into a creative opportunity. This event has brought to us a magnificent array of essays, anecdotes, and stories based on the Great Whyville Blackout.
