PANDEMIC
It ripped the sky,
Left behind streamers
In tints and shades
Of rose colored red
And blinked out there,
Just under the moon
Where tear-blurred vision
Let me live in the moment
For a second that might last forever

Once upon a shooting star,
Dreams came true
Without questions of how,
No curiosity of why,
And the night sky fell apart
When I looked up
To see impossibility
On the other side of the moon

While the world spun,
Counterclockwise,
I fell forward
Into a white sleep,
A cold dream
Where a spot of light
Held the universe together
And my heart was at the center

Once upon a shooting star
A wish was made
In faltering hope
As a last resort
To keep a life from breaking
And let me sleep
Just five more minutes
