Hello, Whyville! You know when you really want a new account with a new name, but that name is already taken by someone who hasn't been on Whyville in four years, and only visited three times? I do, there are tons of times when I go to the City Records and see that the account is taken, by someone who doesn't use it.
Now people like Vanilla who has been on here since 1999 still comes on and is a dedicated Times Writer. She has not wasted her account. But people like SkUmBaG68, who has been on Whyville since 2002, and has only visited Whyville one time, is a waste of an account when people might actually want that account and would use it.
There was an account that I was going to use, but I knew it would be taken. I went to the City Records and typed in the name "YourSelf," and of course it was taken. By a girl who joined six years ago, and has visited Whyville one time in six years!
Now the population of Whyville is so huge, that I guess it's not noticed as much. You can see the Whyvillians at South-Beach or North, or Greek Theater talking with a new account and are so happy. Which is good :)
And the posing on Whyville isn't too bad, but will it soon be a problem? City Worker names are very popular, to copy such as ScyllaCat's they could make a new account named ScyiiaCat, but put the two "I's" in uppercase. Yes I have once done this (But not with that name) to see what it was like, and it wasn't too fun! People always asked me, "Hey girl I haven't seen you in forever!" And I will reply, "Uh Hi?" and they get confused by the mistake.
So you may want to know what another citizen think of this, so I interviewed another citizen to get her opinion.

CupOfCake: Hi, may I interview you for the Whyville Times?
StormRi: Sure!
CupOfCake: Do you think the population of taken accounts that haven't been used since 2002, is out of hand?
StormRi: Most definitely!
CupOfCake: Why do you think this?
StormRi: Because they don't ever go on. And they probably have quit and gone and made a new account or just quit Whyville period!
CupOfCake: Exactly! Are there ever times when you go to the City Records and type in a name to see if it is taken so you can use it?
StormRi: Oh yes!
CupOfCake: Well thank you for your time!
