Hi, this is actingup9, reporting on the latest and greatest events in Whyville. On July 1st, our wonderful town celebrated Canadian Independence Day by putting on a huge leaf hunt. At various places around Whyville, red or gold leaves would pop up and eager hunters would rush to get them.
On the whole, I thought this event was a huge success because a lot of people were getting excited about hunting leaves. I interviewed several people about the event, and they all seemed to agree with me.
One citizen and leaf hunter, Swirlsy, told me that, "I think it was fun to have a goal for
something, and something to do that was different."
Holiday50 explained that she enjoyed the hunt because, "There were a lot more leaves, giving everyone the chance to win prizes."
I asked several people where they hunted for leaves and how many they ended up finding. Here's what I found out.
actingup9: Where did you hunt for leaves?
bubble777: Various places in the Warp Wagon.
bigC2: The mall and Saturn.
Swirlsy: The mall, Jupiter, the Illusion House, and other random places.
0Kandi00: The Getty Museum.
holiday50: I hunted at the AF Rec Room, WhyHouse, Mall Entrance, Illusions House, Getty Museum, Spin Lab and Grandma's. (Wow, she really got around!)
smg869: Tiki Tours
actingup9: How many leaves did you end up collecting?
bubble777: 6
bigC2: 2
Swirlsy: I wasn't counting , but probably around 30, maybe a few more.
0Kandi00: Almost 1, but another person got to it first!
holiday50: I lost count after 20.
smg869: 21-22
As you can see, there were many places that leaves were popping up (I also found some in the WASA rocket offices) and everyone had fun whether they ended up with no leaves or over 30! The winners of the leaf hunt (and the July 4th Statue of Liberty hunt) were notified July 6th.
I hope you enjoyed my article,
