Greetings to my fellow Whyvillians,
I would like to announce that the Whyville Times is now hiring creative writers to be in charge of weekly columns.
We want the Times to be your paper, and deal with issues and topics that are important to you as citizens.
With that said, I will be looking to hire columnists, who will receive a paycheck of 100 clams per article, to write columns in their expertise.
Some columns I would like to start are:
Advice (as it pertains to your life in Whyville or your life outside of Whyville)
Sports (the latest events/scores)
Current Events (in the world)
Current Events (in Whyville)
Reviews (films, television, and music)
Fashion (the latest trends)
If none of these topics fits your personality, then I would love for you to suggest one that you feel is important.
To become a columnist, please submit a pitch for your column including:
The title
Your first column
Ideas for future columns
How you are qualified to write this column
and why you feel this column is important
Remember, this is an opportunity for you to make the Times your own. Embrace the chance to write a column that you feel is important, and make some extra clams. Look for the columns to begin running in the next issue.
Happy Writing,
Times Editor
UPDATE: When you apply, please submit your actual first two columns. I need to see samples of your writing before you can be hired. Thank you.
