Hello! I'm ABbayb290 . . . and I am back after not being on this site in awhile.

Well anyways, one day I was lurking across the site and came to the Times. It was then I got the inspiration for an article. Music!

You see, one of my goals is to find a new band each week, and so far, I have achieved this goal every time. I have here my recommendations on bands that I have found. Now, these are not the bands that you will commonly find on the Top 20 charts because they have yet to make it big. But, in my opinion, these artists are creating some amazing music.

So . . . without further adieu, I bring you ABbayb290's Music Digest!

Joanna Newsom -- This young woman is what we call a folk artist. She is known for her quirky voice and very creative lyrics. The music itself is very simple in style and has a catchy rhythm. Even if you tend to stay away from this type of music, I suggest that you check her out. Her album is entitled, "The Milk-Eyed Mender". My personal favorite tracks on the album are: "The Book of Right-On", "Sprout and the Bean", and "Peach, Plum, Pear".

The Fall of Troy -- This trio creates music that is a mix of progressive rock, experimental, and rock. The result is a fast paced musical head trip that makes you want even more! If you're interested, check out these songs: "F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X." and "I Just Got This Symphony Goin'".

Aphex Twin -- The sounds of Aphex Twin are electronic and ambient. Meaning, no words! But, before you tune out, check him out. Some of his songs are relaxing, while others are goofy and crazy and make you want to dance. He has many albums out so I will recommend some songs: "Windowlicker", "Girl Boy Song", "Flim", and "Stone In Focus". "Windowlicker", and "Girl Boy Song" are the kinds of songs you want to dance too, whereas "Flim" and "Stone In Focus" are perfect songs to relax to.

Ludo -- If you haven't heard of Ludo yet, you eventually will. Hailing from my own home town of St. Louis, Missouri, these 5 men have a sound that is all their own. Ludo is a blend of powerpop and rock that, together with catchy, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, create songs that you want to turn up as loud as possible on your stereo! My favorite songs include: "Save Our City", "Good Will Hunting By Myself", "Part I: Broken Bride", and "Japan It".

From First to Last -- Many of you may have heard of this quartet, but, sadly, there are still many who haven't. From First to Last breaks the standard mold of Hardcore music with deeply personal lyrics and guitar rifts that make you want to headbang and scream your heart out. I recommend their newest album "Heroine". (Heroine as in 'female hero'.) Now, this album has actually received a lot of negative attention from fans who preferred their older sound, but, personally, this album sums up completely what From First to Last is all about. I've listened to this one so many times that I've lost count. My favorite tracks include: "The Latest Plauge", "World War Me", "Shame Shame", "The Crows Are Coming For Us", and "The Levy". Keep in mind, the album has a Parental Advisory warning, so check with your parents first before listening in.

Paramore -- Paramore is a group that blends rock and alternative with a young female singer (and when I say young, I mean she is still in her teens!) who's voice just blows my mind! The lyrics sum up the typical teenage angst, but you just can't help listening in! They may be young, but they sound so professional. I recommend the songs "Brighter", "Whoa", and "Here We Go Again".

The Hush Sound -- If you haven't heard about them from Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump, or refused to listen to them because of those two, then you are missing out! This pop/rock quartet is known for their catchy music and creative lyrics. I've even seen them in concert, and you completely forget that they are still considered a young band. I recommend the songs: "Crawling Towards the Sun", "Momentum", and "Like Vines".

Well, that's all I've got today! I encourage you to check out these artists and I hope you enjoy them!
