Recently, I've been trying to remember some of the old friends I once had on this beautiful island. Going to the "City Records" link under the "Destination." scroll menu, I began to type in old remembered names.

"Let's see, I think this was how they spelled that . . ." I was having some difficulty remembering the spellings that my old friends used. They all seemed to have some witty tweek to them that would make them more than confusing.

First, I typed in 8thNote.

8thNote was one of the greatest Newbie helpers I ever met. She went out of her way just to make sure that everyone was safe and happy. Hoping I remember her Whyville time line correctly, I'm going to try to show my fans why I think she was the greatest. Within the first few months of her citizenship, it was made obvious that Newbies were not treated right. She then decided to dedicate her life to helping these poor souls. She let her head expire, and then, went to work. She worked undercover as a Newbie for all of her citizenship. She would secretely help Newbies she saw in distress, and she would tell loving Oldbies about Newbie help clubs. Even when she was considered an Oldbie by some, she still worked. The only way that anyone could possibly know that she was not a Newbie was to glance at how long she had been a member. She then left no trace of her leave. We miss her undercover work that helped Whyville so much, or at least I do!

"Hmm . . . Who else was there?" I began to rack my brain even more for the forgotten heros. Oh, yes! Skitty and MissTuffy!

My dearest friends Skitty and MissTuffy were more help to Whyville than Whyville could handle. There is no saying Skitty's name without MissTuffy's name tacking itself on. In Skitty's lifetime, she started about five Newbie help clubs that worked endlessly for the good of Whyville. Just look up her city records and you will see two listed that had just begun when she vanished. Without their leader, these clubs fell apart, but they lasted awhile with Skitty's righthand-girl MissTuffy. Anything that Skitty could not do, MissTuffy did. MissTuffy kept the clubs going as long as she could until she vanished, too. You might could say they were an entity of one.

Thinking of Skitty and the societies she helped create made me remember someone who was in every single Newbie help organization I ever knew of, KitzKatz.

Yes it is true that KitzKatz had the sort of spunk in her that can get on the edge of a nerve, but who cares when someone was so kind! No one could encourage people like KitzKatz. She held onto the what she saw as the Whyville way until the very end. She never let a y-mail go unanswered! If you were gone for an extended period of time from whyville, she was the first ones to notice. KitzKatz was so engaged in Whyville, she worked herself into what I call "Whyville Burnout," disappearing forever.

You may be thinking exactly what I was thinking about this time. "These are all girls! I know that there had to be at least one nice boy back then!" Then it hit me. Casey100 helped, too!

Casey100 may not have been the smartest cat on Whyville, but he did leave behind some strong impressions. He tried his hardest at everything he did, and tagged along behind KitzKatz all the way. KitzKatz would find a new club and join, but as soon as she told Casey100, he was right there, too. There was no leaving him behind! He stood up for any Newbie, or anyone for that matter, that he saw being bullied. Never turning down an occassion to be nice; he created a few Newbie help clubs himself. But, as the others before, he, too, vanished.

Eyes tearing up, I could go no farther in my search for lost citizens. I went back to my inbox and replied to all the new y-mails I had received while I was on my search. "Friends will come and go . . ." I thought to myself as I sat there.

I know there is no way to remember everybody and I know there are so many expired citizens that aren't mentioned, but I hope that I found a little of everybody in these few. If you know of anyone else that you feel should be spoken for, post it in the BBS. Hopefully when I'm gone, I will be one of the few "Gone, but not Forgotten."
