As I was lounging at the beach today, not really paying attention to what was going on, I spotted a rather friendly fellow offering rides in his scion to people. Before I got a chance to see who was the driver in the already crowded car, he invited me, I hopped in, and we were off. You may think that this in just another example of a friendly scion owner demonstrating the Whyville Way, but the person who invited me into his car is the one person that you can always trust to use the Whyville Way. If you haven't guessed already, my nominee for this week is Deriko.

Most of you have probably heard of Deriko for one thing or another. He has been a member of Whyville since April, 2002, is a Y-mail Helper, and has the highest salary that one can achieve, 140 clams. Deriko always seems to be trying to enrich the Whyville experience for all citizens. On a personal level, I have bumped into Deriko several times during my four years on Whyville. He has never ceased to be friendly and helpful to me, just like he is to everyone.

Like I said before, Deriko always demonstrates the Whyville Way. He even wrote an article for the Times about the Whyville Way (article ID number 5492). An active Whyvillian, Deriko hosted Whyville's first ever checkers tournament in 2004. Those of us who have been around long enough may know Deriko for his founding of the Death Angels, a club devoted to improving Whyville. Very recently, he even organized the Whyville Mathematical Olympiad. On top of all of this, Deriko is a warm hearted person and a true friend. We all should follow his example of honesty and integrity in Whyville.

This is actingup9, crossing my fingers that this is accepted.
Toodleoo!
