When you were little, what television show did you like to watch? Maybe it was "Blue's Clues". Maybe it was "Barney". And maybe it was "The Wiggles".
"The Wiggles" was made up of four unique dudes, who wrote music, sung it, and danced along with it. Each of the wiggles wore a different color shirt. The colors were yellow (Greg), purple (Jeff), red, and blue. They held live concerts, and with their friends in Wiggle World, they have lots of adventures.
There are different characters, such as Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Captain Feathersword, and Henry the Octopus. Each and every show features these characters, and with the characters, the wiggles make up songs, such as "Hot Potato," "Fruit Salad," "Quack, Quack," "Wake Up Jeff," and "We're Dancing with Wags the Dog".
Now, you're probably wondering why I'm telling you this. And no, it's not because I love "The Wiggles", although they are pretty cool and the purple one is obviously the best, but because the yellow wiggle, or more commonly referred to as Greg, has quit.
No, not because he's tired of "wiggling," but because he has a rare disease that stops the heart from pumping blood while standing or dancing. Now, you can see the problem with a wiggle not dancing. I mean, watch the show, and you'll see why it would be a problem. Or even look up "The Wiggles" on YouTube or Google Video.
Greg Page, the 34 year old yellow wiggle, quit on November 30, 2006. Greg played several roles in the wiggles, such as the magician, the lead singer, and the man in the yellow shirt. Greg Page fell sick at the beginning of this year, and for eleven months experienced "frequent fainting spells, dizziness, and lethargy." The disease that Greg suffers from is called orthostatic intolerance.
When questioned, Greg Page said "I'll miss being a part of "The Wiggles" very much, but it's the right decision because it will allow me to focus on managing my health." For now, the man in yellow will be replaced by Sam Moran.
Let's hope that Greg will get in better health, and will be able to return to his position of the yellow wiggle soon.
