Dancing, most people think its just a bunch of girlie girls (and guys) jumping around in tutus. They are so wrong! Dancing is probably one of the most physically and mentally challenging sports out there. (Yes, you read it right I said sport.)
If you have ever been to a dance competition or recital you might still think it looks easy. Well, you have fallen right into our little "trap". That's the point of dancing! The art of doing things physically with grace. I would love to see all those guys who think the only sports in the world are basketball, football and hockey going on stage and doing a "triple pirouette, grand jete" all with a smile no matter how much it hurts!
The point I'm trying to get across here is that physical things don't always have to be people shoving others to the ground! It can be beautiful, graceful, atheletic, grueling, and painful all at the same time! I'm not saying that everyone has to go out and buy a bodysuit and tights! I'm just saying that I think everyone should try new things and have a more open mind about other sports! Again, I'm not saying that everyone should run out of the football field and grab the nearest barre to practice their grand plies! Just give up the "wimpy dancer" routine and we'll get along just fine!
