The story follow a U.S. Army officer, appalled by the death and destruction of the Civil War, gets himself assigned to the farthest reaches of the Western Frontier - the Dakota plains. He develops a bond with nature and the local Sioux tribes, earning the name which is the title of the film after he befriends a wolf. When white settlers encroach on their territory, Dunbar joins the Indians in resistance. Rated PG-13. Available on DVD
