The 2008 Presidential Elections may seem far off from now, but many candidates are jumping on the elections train already.

As you may know the United States holds a presidential election every four years. This upcoming one may be the most historical election of them all. It may be the first time that some of the candidates will be black or a female.

There are two main political parties in the United States government, Democrat and Republican.

The Democratic symbol is a donkey, while the Republican symbol is an elephant.

There are many candidates which are sparking much debate over who is qualified to be our president.

The Democrats have many candidates already in the race. The most known of them would most likely be Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, and John Edwards.

The Republicans also have a strong line-up for president. The most known Republican candidates would probably be Sam Brownback, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain (not yet for sure to run).

Most of all these candidates I believe are worthy but who will be chosen? Well if you didn't already know, the different political parties choose one group of all the candidates to run together for president and vice-president. So only two from each party will go on to actually run.

As you can see it is only the beginning and there is no absolute candidate for President in either party.

Personally I think politics are a very important matter, and I believe everyone should be involved. It is what our country is founded upon and what you live by every day.

I hope this article has been informative if not inspiring to get involved.
