I'm smart, helpful and kind... who am I? I am a Y-Mail helper. Well, I'm not one, but there are lots of them out there. Funny ones, exiting ones, talented ones. But they all are smart, helpful and kind. So you are wondering, what are Y-Mail helpers (also known as, Newbie Helpers)?

They are the people who have been on Whyville for 90 days without a punishment for bad behavior. They are the people who have a 100 clam salary. They are the people who know what's what around Whyville. They can sit at the desk in the Newbie Help Center, and answer the questions of the Newbies who just don't have a clue what to do!

I interviewed a Y-Mail helper named Sweeetie2 with a few questions.

Caseygur1: What do you love best about being a Y-mail helper?
Sweeetie2: I like seeing the people who came in and had no idea what was going on and then having great faces and lots of clams! It makes me feel good seeing them successful.
Caseygur1: What is your area of expertise on Whyville?
Sweeetie2: I know a little about almost everything here on Whyville, but I would say I know the most about Why-passes and earning clams for stuff like Scions.

Overall, I'd say that being a Y-Mail helper is a good way to feel good in Whyville! But there's something else -- if you're a great Y-Mail helper and answer lots of questions truthfully, you could have a chance at being the Helper of the Month, with your picture displayed in the Newbie Help Center. The current helper of the month is Holiday50, a great helper and friend!

Sweeetie2 says that if you want to help out the Y-Mail helpers do this: "If you have a long question, type it before you are in the chair, then hit enter once you are in the chair. This will speed things up a bit!" But other than that, there's nothing you have to do to have your question answered by a helper, because helpers are there to help you out!

Thanks,
Caseygur1
