As you may know, global warming is definitely an issue in this country, here and now, and that some big corporations are denying that. Well, now it isn't a theory - it's real.
Well, if you care anything whatsoever about global warming, or music, or watch the news, you would probably know about the series of concerts that Al Gore put together to fight against global warming. There were nine concerts in all.
There was one in New York (North America), one in London (Europe), one in Hamburg (Europe), one in Johannesburg (Africa), one in Tokyo (Asia), one in Sydney (Australia), one in Rio (South America), and many more, including unofficial ones in Washington DC, and Shanghai.
There was one on every continent, even on Antarctica where a group of scientists broadcast their band performing. Cool, huh? There were also thousands of viewing parties around the world.
Over 100 artists saw this as an important cause, including some artists you may know -- Rihanna, Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, Kelly Clarkson, the Police, Bon Jovi, Snow Patrol, Joss Stone, Taking Back Sunday, Kanye West, Ludacris, Akon, Fall Out Boy, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Keith Urban, Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd), KT Tunstall, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Foo Fighters, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Wolfmother, and so many more.
I just so happen to have been able to go to the US Concert, and it was great.
Some highlights of the night:
-When Alicia Keys and Keith Urban did a duet of The Rolling Stones' "Give Me Shelter." Sounds pretty lame, I guess, a country artist and an R&B artist, but they both turned straight to rock, and dude - Alicia Keys can sing.
-When Roger Waters was performing Pink Floyd songs, and a giant pig-shaped blimp came out that said "SOS (the motto of Live Earth) - Save Our Sausage".
-When The Police were performing the closing number of the concert, "Message in a Bottle," and Kanye West came up on stage and started rapping with the song.

Well, I'm off - just telling you to remember to do your part with global warming - change some lightbulbs to Compact Flourescent Lightbulbs, turn everything you're not using off, shop smarter, car pool, etc. There are a bunch of things you can do to help.
