Everybody has heard of the stereotype called Emo. It has affected a lot of people around the world. I'm sure sometimes when you see Emo you think, "Goth." But it isn't. It is a kind of culture.
Parents get worried because they don't know what Emo is. When they do find out what Emo is they will get suspicious of their child. Then when they see Emo around or scene kids they will immediately snap and will hate them. I personally think that is just rude, and judgmental. Just because somebody is having some depression problems and doesn't know how to handle them doesn't mean they are a bad person. If your parents have been really looking into the "Emo Culture" please assure them what's going on and explain to them they are harmless.
Scene kids are people who look Emo. Like I have stated before just because they are wearing that kind of trend, doesn't mean they are a bad person. But what you think is scene kid probably isn't. Just because they wear skulls, black, even band tee-shirts does not mean that they are Emo! Trust me I wear skulls, black, band tee-shirts all the time and I will assure you I'm not a scene kid. I just love listening to bands and stuff like that. When people wear stuff like that they can also be punk or something. A lot of the boys have started wearing tighter/girl's jeans, you'll get over it!
The last part about the "Emo Culture" is the music that they listen to. I listen to it too, and stuff like that but I love all genres. Screamo bands are probably one of them. When you get depressed or something you don't always have to be sad you can be mad too. When you're mad you just want to scream! So when you are mad Screamo music is really empowering. Everybody wants to scream!
