Pepsi and Coke, Sierra Mist and Sprite, Aquafina and Dasani. All of these are familiar drinks, that are extremely similar. But did you know they all are owned by two companies? Coca-Cola and Pepsi are both major corporations that are destined to be enemies forever. They seem to always be competing, and it shows in their seemingly copy-cat products.

To begin, which products came first?

Coke vs. Pepsi: Coke was indeed the first. The first recipe, made by John Stith Pemberton, was developed in 1885. Compare this to Pepsi, which was started in 1903.

Sprite vs. Sierra Mist: Again, Coca-Cola Co. came first. Sprite was created in 1961. Sierra Mist came later, in 2000.

Dasani vs. Aquafina: Aquafina, made by PepsiCo, came first! It was developed in 1994, and is very popular today. However, it has some controversy. Before, the bottles did not state that Aquafina was drawn from a public source, but now they will. Dasani was introduced in 1999, to compete against Aquafina.

Now we know which came first, but which is better? I surveyed a group of Whyvillians, and here are the results:

Sprite vs. Sierra Mist: Sprite won, with 74% of the vote!

Coke vs. Pepsi: Again, the Coca-Cola Company won with 67%

Aquafina vs. Dasani: PepsiCo won this time, with the unanimous vote for Aquafina!

Well, what do you think? Tell me your favorites in the BBS!

For this week's recipe, I made my favorite drink! It uses Sprite, and is enough for 4 people. You're welcome to double it!

Awesome Punch

1 cup grape juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup Sprite
1/2 cup lemonade
1 small Lemon
1 small lime

This is super easy! Just combine all ingredients in a pitcher, and add ice cubes! Then, slice up a lime. Use the biggest slice, and cut a bit until you get to the center, then put it on the side of the pitcher. Do the same for the lemon. Then, take the remaining slices, and drop them into the pitcher!

Want to do something cool with it? The night before you make this, pour some orange juice into a ice cube tray. Then, substitute this for regular ice!
