It's autumn in New Mexico
The sun rises before I wake
But if I rise early enough
I sit and wait and wait

Over purple mountain tops
A light peeks out above
Filling the whole city with
Warmth, light and love

Now morning has turned to noon
The sun has passed the mountains
And those great hills, now yellow
Because of all the Aspens

Now the sun starts to hide
Behind mountains in the West
Turning the sky colors
And leaving the city to rest
