Homework. A word that usually defines frustration. Throwing a pencil against the wall, ripping out you hair, all because of homework?
I'm going to go with the crowd here, and say that I find homework to be absolutely dreadful. I'll find myself just wanting to throw my face into my pillow and forget there ever was such a thing.
I know that I spend about an hour and a half on my homework. But I wanted to know what other people thought! So I interviewed these fellow Whyvillians of mine to find out what they feel when they hear that ear piercing word (for some of us).
First I went to the Beach Grotto, where I then found Harasf.
Lolypop93: What do you think about homework? (annoying, does it give you something to do . . . etc.)
harasf: wWll I think it can be a tad annoying at some of the times when I spend about 2 hours on it.
Lolypop93: Does homework affect your outside of school life? How?
harasf: Yes! Whenever my friends who don't go to my school say, "Hey let's go play football," or "Want to hang out?" I always have to say that I have homework. :(
Lolypop93: How much time do you usually spend on homework each night?
harasf: Well USUALLY about an hour. But when my teachers assign us lots of homework (especially math) I spend up to 2 hours! :(.
Lolypop93: Anything else you would like to add about homework?
harasf: That they should do this: give us no homework, but make the day a little longer than usual. Like for instance if your school ends at 1:30PM like mine, they could change that to maybe 3, and never give us homework. That would be awesome!
Next I Y-mailed fellow helper Holiday50 with the questions.
Lolypop93: What do you think about homework? (annoying, does it give you something to do . . . etc.)
holiday50: Homework is really annoying, and it takes up a lot of time. I'm at school for 8 hours and when I go home, it's like 3 more hours of school because of homework! Also, sometimes I have 2 tests in one week AND homework! It's really hard to study and find time to finish everything.
Lolypop93: Does homework affect your outside of school life? How?
holiday50: Homework does affect my life outside school. I'll make plans with my friends, but sometimes I have to cancel because I have homework.
Lolypop93: How much time do you usually spend on homework each night?
holiday50: I spend about 2-3 hours on homework each night. But I'm in high school, so it's normal.
Lolypop93: Anything else you would like to add about homework?
holiday50: Yes. Most people are annoyed by homework, and always whine because they get so much. Well, when you go come from school you really don't remember EVERYTHING you learned. Homework keeps you on track with school, and you learn a lot by doing it.
Wow! Good answer to the last question! Excellent!
And last but (of course) not least, I interviewed my best friend in real life, whose Whyville username is Jessy1017.
Lolypop93: What do you think about homework? (annoying, does it give you something to do . . . etc.)
Jessy1017: I think it's not too bad. I can sometimes learn things from my homework. If I didn't have homework, then everything I learned in school, would probably STAY in school. Lol. =D
Lolypop93: Does homework affect your outside of school life? How?
Jessy1017: No. my schedule always fits in with my "out of school life." I do my homework and eat a snack right when I get home, then head over to soccer practice.
Lolypop93: How much time do you usually spend on homework each night?
Jessy1017: Surprisingly, even though I am in 8th grade, I only get about a half hour to an hour a day. It's not too bad at all!
Lolypop93: Anything else you would like to add about homework?
Jessy1017: That if you think about it, homework actually helps you in many ways. :)
As you can see, there are many different opinions about homework. 2 out of the 3 people that I interviewed think that homework is annoying, and 1 thinks it's not too bad. I wonder what the results would be If I were to interview all of Whyville? What do YOU think about Homework?
This is Lolypop93, going to do some...*sigh* math homework.
