Hello Whyville! It's a new issue of the Times which means it's time for more quotes! I got many suggestions for this week's article, but decided I wanted to do it on Famous Military Quotes in honor of Veterans' Day. Last week I said that musicians had a lot of wisdom from throughout their careers, but that better fits this article. In honor of the men and women who have served our country in our armed forces, let's see some military quotes!
"Live for something rather than die for nothing." - George Patton
"Only our individual faith in freedom can keep us free." - Dwight D. Eisenhower
"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, learning from failure." - Colin Powell
"The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it." - Norman Schwarzkopf
"There is no substitute for victory" - Douglas MacArthur
Well, that's it for this week's quotes. Veterans' Day is more than a day that we don't have to go to school. It is a day to remember and honor all of those who have served our country, whether as a front line soldier, doctor, military wife, etc. They have all sacrificed a chunk of their life to help our country succeed.
This article is dedicated to all US Military Veterans.
Signing off, this is
