Serj Tankian is a lead singer to a popular band System of A Down, and also a solo artist. His solo career has been doing well so far. His songs have been on the radio, Youtube, and many more musical outlets. His new CD is called Elect the Dead. It came out into the USA on October 24th, 2007. That is one day after my birthday. :)
He played all the instruments in this CD. The first song on the CD is called "Empty Walls", which had a great music video. The music video was about these kids having a "war" as we are having right now. In the beginning a little boy is playing with a air plane, and a little girl is playing with blocks making two towers. Hint, Hint; Twin Towers. Does that ring a bell? I won't say any more because you probably get the point I'm making.
The second song is called "The Unthinking Majority". It's a pretty good song with some classical piano then it changes to pretty hard rock. His third song is called "Money". With this song he's trying to explain how the world is obsessed with money, and that is all they care about. "Feed Us" is his next song. His fifth song is called "Saving Us". The music video shows this destitute walking holding a sign saying "Homeless". He's walking around and looking at people holding signs saying something like "Gambling," or "Rehab". His sixth song is called "The Sky is Over". I'm not totally sure what this song is about, but I am guessing it must be something about war. The next song on his CD is called "Baby" which is song number seven. The eighth song is called "Honking Antelope". The ninth song is called "Lie, Lie, Lie". This is my favorite song out of the whole CD. I'm not quite sure why it's my favorite song, but it may be from the beat to it. The next song is called "Praise the Lord, And Pass the Ammunition". I like the name of this song. The next song is very good, but I cannot name it in Whyville, for fear of getting in trouble. The last song, Number 12, is called "Elect the Dead" which is the title of the cover. It's not a total rock and roll song. It's more classical.
