Hey again Whyville! I hope you teens got something out of my last article, which was the topic of acne. Most of you were wondering what else there is to talk about while becoming a teen. Truth be told, there are many parts of changing. One of them, is growing.

Some of you were also concerned about if I was going to discuss the ways a girl changes, and the way a boy changes, differently. Of course, this would be hard for me to discuss, and a little awkward too. That's why the topics that I am going to write about will be the overall changes for teens in general. I hope that helps.

Ever heard of the term "growing up?" of course you have! This usually means to mature into an adult, have better manners, and to stop acting like a kid. But if you think of it the way most teens do, it actually means growing UP as in growth spurts. Everybody knows that growing this way is very hard. Just like acne, it can also be the time in your life where you just want to put a bag over your head.

Though it is hard to tell with girls, your voice will start to change. You won't have that high squeaky voice like you did when you were eight years old. You might find that over the course of a month, you have grown two inches! It's probably very surprising, and embarrassing.

You might notice your voice beginning to crack smack dab in the middle of a sentence. Again, most girls are lucky and this doesn't happen to them. But boys, sorry, there is no way to escape. Unlike acne, or skin problems, there is no "Pro-Active" or "Dove Soap" for this part. So quite frankly, I cannot give you many tips, but to remember that you aren't the only one going through it. You are not the only teen!

As for the growing, getting taller (and maybe wider or thinner) as you grow can result in more greasy hair, sweat, body oder, etc. This means, you must take care of your own body! No more taking a shower once a week. If you want to stay healthy and clean, follow these tips:

1. Take a shower at least every night, so you aren't going to sleep dirty!
2. Wash and dry your hair. Don't just rinse it if you have time!
3. Okay, this is going to sound a tad personnel, but wear deodorant! There's nothing worse than being next to someone smelling something gross.)
4. Just like acne, remember to wash your face in the morning or at night!
5. If you have gym class on a certain day, remember to bring your (own) change of cloths! In my school, it's required, though most kids just forget and it gets really disgusting!

Follow of of these tips once again, and you will have a much better outcome while becoming a teen.

Don't sweat it,
