The other day I was at North Beach, and two Whyvillians were in a heated argument. One of them called the other one stupid, and the other one decided to 911 Report. I was shocked. Misusing the 911 Report tool can get you in trouble! It's not just these two Whyvillians who don't know about 911 Reporting -- I see other Whyvillians wrongfully use the 911 Report tool.
The only time Whyvillians are taught about the 911 Report tool, is when we take the Chat License test when we first joined. Some of us probably don't even remember what was on it. Do you? I'm writing this article to teach Whyvillians what to report, and what not to report.
Let's start off with a little quiz. No peeking at the answers!
1. A YHelper offers to raise your salary and asks for your password. Should you:
A. Let her! She's trustworthy, right? She's a YHelper!
B. 911 Report her
2. During an argument, someone calls you "a stupid idiot with no life." What do you do?
A. 911 Report him.
B. Insult them back! You shouldn't have to take this from them!
3. Someone claims they're selling an account with a 140 salary and 8 scions!
A. IT MUST BE YOUR LUCKY DAY! Buy it immediately.
B. Use the Silence and Vaporize tools.
4. A Whyvillian types out something inappropriate using letters, numbers and symbols.
A. It's okay to swear as long as you hide it!
B. 911 Report her.
5. A Whyvillian has been harassing you with ymails everyday. The ymails say mean things like "you're ugly you clown face!" and "you're so stupid your salary is 20 clams! haha!"
A. 911 Report him immediately.
B. Insult him back! Don't take this from him.

2. Trick Question
Being called "a stupid idiot with no life" isn't serious enough to 911 Report. But you also shouldn't insult them back because that's what they want you to do. The right thing to do is to double-click the person's face and use the Silence and Vaporize tools so you don't have to see or hear from whoever's annoying you.
3. B
Buying and selling accounts involves asking for passwords. The person who's selling you the account is guilty, but you're also guilty for buying the account.
4. B
It doesn't matter how someone breaks a rule--they're still breaking a rule. Therefore, you should still 911 Report them. But in the report, describe what the letters, numbers and symbols mean.
5. This is a trick question. NONE of the options are correct. Again, being called "you're ugly you clown face!" isn't serious enough to be 911 Reported. But you can block the Whyvillian from ymailing you ever again. Keep reading the article to find out how!
Notice how there wasn't an "Ignore" option? When a crime happens, you should never ignore it. Report the Whyvillian immediately.
If a Whyvillian is constantly bothering you, you don't have to put up with their immaturity. You can permanently vaporize or silence the Whyvillian. To do this, first add the Whyvillian to your Address Book.
Click 'City Records' on the Destination bar. In the box, type in their username. Then click the Search button. When you're at their City Records, click their face. Then check the small box that says "Add recipient to address book." Press Send.
Now, go to your Address Book. Click the black walkie-talkie on the bus. Then click 'Address Book.' Click the Whyvillian's name. Check off Silence, Vaporize OR Reject mail from. Remember how #5 was a trick question in the quiz? If someone is harassing you with ymails, you can choose to reject mail from them.
Now, click SAVE. Do NOT delete the Whyvillian from your Address Book or you're undoing everything.
How to Report
If a Whyvillian is bothering you in a chatroom, double-click their face. Then click 911 Report. You can also Vaporize or Silence the Whyvillian. But remember, if they commit a crime, 911 Report them immediately.
If someone sends you an inappropriate ymail, you can report them by clicking the small red phone icon. This is called the Callbox icon.
Remember the Callbox icon? Well, you can click this icon to report an inappropriate BBS post.
The Callbox icon is also on everyone's City Records, so you can report offensive content.
