Bc at *insert popular bc destination here* HUGE prizes!
Recognize those phrases? Yes, everyone, this is the start of a popular event in Whyville called a BC or Beauty Contest. In this article I will explain what a Beauty Contest is, and ask Whyvillians for their opinions on this.
What is it?
Sometimes I hear this question, like I said before, BC stands for Beauty Contest. It's an event that gets held at any time, and pretty much any place that's big enough for contestants and won't disrupt other Whyvillians in chat. A host gets people and with the help of contestants they urge people to come to their BC. After that, when the host is ready, and when there's enough people it finally gets started. The host calls up people's names if they think their Whyvillian is pretty. After they call up the people's names, some are left behind. After this (sometimes) they have rounds. Eliminating people one by one to finally get a winner.
Prizes
The main attraction of a BC are prizes. Prizes are usually clams, or a cool face part. Not all BC's give out prizes though. Some people just host a BC for fun.
With a friend
To make things more exciting, (and sometimes not always,) host a BC with a friend! You can choose people together, and it makes more tension for the audience. They always say, two heads are better than one!

Xolova03: When you win you feel confident and beautiful even though you should already know that all people are beautiful from the inside :D.
SweetMN: That's great! Would you recommend them to a friend/Whyvillian?
Xolova03: Yes, very much so and I think they would agree :D.

SweetMN: What do you think about BC's? (Beauty Contests)
Pichume23: Beauty Contests. Hmm . . . hard to say. I will always be in a BC if I'm bored, but for fun, not because I want clams. But they can be kind of stupid. I mean it's not all about looking pretty, it's about having a good personality. They reward people for being pretty, when all they really are is just a cartoon with some cartoon face parts on. It's just one big way to make people feel bad about themselves who aren't picked.
SweetMN: Good answer! Is there any reason why you do/don't like Beauty Contests?
Pichume23: I like them when I am just bored and have nothing to do. They are fun for that. But I don't like them because they make people feel bad who don't look good or get don't get picked. I could really go either way.
SweetMN: Good Answers! Anything else you want to say?
Pichume23: Yes. I hate it when people who host BC's say the prize is like 1k and then they say they will give you the prize just to get people. And then they never do. BC's are fun if you feel good about yourself and think you look good. But it gets bad when people stereotype in BC's, like not picking boys, emos, preps, etc. People shouldn't discriminate.

Ibejason1: I think they are a good source of protein! I like them LoL.
SweetMN: Any specific reason why you like them?
Ibejason1: Because if I win I get pretty girls like you . . . and clams.
SweetMN: Would you suggest participating in a BC to your friends/Whyvillians?
Ibejason1: Yes.
