PANDEMIC
An intense moment in a moonlit field
Her comfort lies in his embrace
He murmurs sweet whispers in her ear
A smile crosses her beautiful face

Her happiness has died with him
Heartache weighs more than the gun
A sweeping glance at the life she once loved -
Her sihlouette disappears with the setting sun

Poorly carved names on crumbling graves
Nobody will see them as more
There are no lessons here, nothing to gain
Except that grief has won another war
