Object pronouns are used in the predicate of a sentence. They receive the action of the verb. You and me are object pronouns that don't need a reference to a noun or phrase these pronouns are replacing.
Example: Mr. Vogel told you and me about Captain James Cook.
Try: Mr. Vogel told us about Captain James Cook.
Him, her, it, us and them are object pronouns.
Example: Captain Cook left Britain in 1768.
Try: Captain Cook left it in 1769.
That is right it is time for sentences using object pronouns!
Captain Cook landed on Tahiti, a Pacific Island, in 1769.

Scientists on the voyage made observations of Venus from the island.
