I am beautiful - sometimes
Good-morning, good-night, mirror and room
Soft line of body swerves, twists, curves
Spilling over - lovely
White cream of shoulder, draped down from neck
Shadow of throat, shine of bone

I am beautiful - sometimes
Out in sun, good-day, world
Them - not soft - sharp twists, tight turns
Spilling, but not over - gorgeous
No white cream, all golden cinnamon
Shadows gone - more than throat shines

I am beautiful - sometimes
Good-night, good-morning, mirror
Round jaw glides down to neck
Soft blushing mouth curves up and down
Graceful flesh slides, dips into eyes
Wide unadorned eyes stare

I am beautiful - sometimes
Out in sun, good day, world
Them - not round, more than glides
Lips thick, enticing, curves but once
Sleek and fair, does not dip, but is
Catty and painted their gaze

I am beautiful - sometimes
In the sun, I am not beautiful
They who shrink from no gaze
Who are all shining golden cinnamon
They are beautiful
And I am not

I am beautiful - sometimes
But with mirror and room
They have no beauty
They gave all away in the sun
But here is where I am beautiful
For my beauty is a gift for one
