Hey, this is Nolegirl6, back with another review. This review is on, yes, columns and series. I decided to write a quick review on a few of the other columns and series in Whyville right now, and an old one or two. Well, hold on tight and prepare for anything, because I think I might regret this one.
"Emmy's Logo Here" by Glitsygrl: This column is a collection of thoughts from Glitsygrl, or Emmy. Every week she shares her thoughts about subjects such as immigration, graffiti, etc. She usually writes about things going on in her life. This column is almost always classified under the 'People' category in the Times. I think this column is really good. It's sometimes a bit long, not much longer than other articles, but still a little longer, but in this case, it's a good thing. It is also hard to fit all your thoughts in such little space. 5 stars.
"PhonyFunny" by Ps2man1: This is an Entertainment column. Every week, Ps2man1 reports on stories he makes up, just to amuse us all. These stories include the Why-stork, Simon Says Cheater, etc. All these reports are based on real things in Whyville, such as people really do cheat in Simon Says the same way Ps2man1 explains it in the article. Whether or not Rex13 is one of these cheaters, now that's a different story. I like the way ps2man1 thanks everyone he uses in his articles at the end. This column always makes me laugh, and that's what I like about it. 4 stars.
"Eh!: The Canada Column" by Rochrox: This column is all about Canada, where a lot of Whyvillians live. It is informative, and every issue there is a different topic discussed. For example, there are articles on the provinces and territories, the important people from Canada, and even a field trip she went on. The facts are usually presented in a fun way. I especially like the article with Vancyon in it, because of how they argued during it while still reporting facts. 4 stars.
"Interview with the Planets" by Mokey6: This series is relatively old, but it is also one of my favorites. It was a series of interviews by Mokey6. The best part was that she didn't interview people, she interviewed the planets. She always told facts, but then there was also some gossip amongst the planets about Saturn, usually. Funny and informative, I give it 5 stars.
"Exotic Animals A to Z" by Girl4God2: This is the newest series on this list. It is an A to Z series, so you never run out of things to talk about. Each issue Girl4God2 writes about an exotic animal we've pretty much never heard of, starting with that week's letter. It is classified under the Science category. Every article so far has been well written and informative. It is still in its starting stages, but I predict she will keep getting better and better. They are a bit short, but this column still deserves 4 stars.
"Hockey: Canada's Game" by Baxierox: This column is all about hockey, which is Canada's national sport, along with lacrosse. Every week this column talks about a different topic, obviously having to do with hockey. They could be things like rules, players, and even teams. Baxierox is pretty good about getting an article out every week, and I applaud him for that. I also think the quality of his articles is good, but I, being someone that understands little about hockey, find this column somewhat confusing. In some of the articles, certain things are not explained as far as they can be. Also, a couple of the articles seem to jump around a bit. But the column has been improving a lot over time. 3 stars.
"Life Lessons" by xo7joa7ox: This column is about experiences from xo7joa7ox's life. They are classified under Creative Writing. These stories can make you crack up. But they also can teach you things. For example, in "No More Lemonade", you can learn what addiction can REALLY do to you. I love this column, I give it 5 stars.
"Inside the Mind" by Megmeg9: This column was comprised of interviews of different kinds of people on Whyville such as designers, scion owners, even Cobd (even though she's a person, not a type of person). Each article has one person (sometimes more) interviewed, who is very well known for what they do. The questions she asks are simple yes or no questions, so interviewing one person is always long enough for this column. When this column first came out I really liked it. Unfortunately, she hasn't been producing articles every week (like someone else :}), but when they do come they are very well written and usually help people that want to be like the person interviewed. 4 stars.
I know you're going to say I'm too easy on everyone, but to be honest I'm not a suck-up or afraid to say what I think. I am just one of those people who likes everything. Also, writing y-mails to me about by opinions won't prove anything, you'll be lucky if I read it. I'm taking a break from Whyville (you can mail me or read my c/r for more info), but I will still be checking my y-mails and reading the Times every Thursday (yes, I know it comes out on Wednesday, but Thursday is when I'll read it). I hoped you enjoyed my last article for a while. Note: I'm going to send in the few articles I have already written, but this will be the last one I actually write.
This is Nolegirl6, signing off for a while.
