Author's Note: I do go to a Methodist (Christian) church and this famine is Christian related. But anyone can do it. I do not mean to offend anyone's religion through this article.

This Friday, after lunch, I will have no food for 30 hours. Why? Because my church is joining thousands of people who have joined World Vision's 30 Hour Famine to help end world hunger.

The 30 hour famine is about helping starving children in Africa. 29,000 children die everyday from hunger. The famine has raised over 1,000,000 dollars for the children in Africa. Why are the people so hungry in Africa? The climate is hot and the soil is not good for growing crops. Three billion people work for less than two dollars a day. 10.5 million children under the age of five die from disease and malnutrition. 3.6 million people suffer from malnutrition every day.

My church was third in the nation who raised money. Our goal this year is 34,000 dollars. I have already collected money from two people and have a total of 75 dollars.

I will be hungry for the children who are hungry all the time. I will be hungry so I will know what it's like to suffer from starvation.

Be hungry. Help the children. Save the world.
