To recap, last week's "Flawed Fashion: Glamorizing Girls" article (id: 8383) dealt with imitating Whyville styles on real life celebrities. Since celebrities are such beauty and style icons, I mimicked popular Whyville girls' fads on their faces to see the results. Most of the BBS and I agreed that these celebrities looked very alienated and unrealistic. But the main point of the article is that our Whyville avatars are about creativity, personality, and imagination. You don't HAVE to look real. You don't NEED to follow my tips. But you SHOULD try to follow what I say and see if you agree with the results. If not, then change by all means. Just consider what I am trying to provoke.
This week I am using male celebrities to mock the styles of Whyville boys. Can male celebrities pull off these flawed fashions? Remember the 'green' boxes have the stars' original face and the 'red' box has their false face.
Tip 1: Over-layered hair isn't something to wear.
Some boys on Whyville sport oversized hair and decide not to have any eyes. In real life boys' eyes are shaded by their long locks. How will skateboarder Ryan Sheckler be able to skate with just hair and no eyes?
Tip 2: Hanging tongues should be shunned.
What boy hangs out his tongue everyday? It's very impossible to keep your tongue hanging because it makes you to get thirsty very quickly. Zac Efron looks like he's been in the sun too long -- hence the tan. Think he's thirsty?
Tip 3: Low lips should be stripped.
I think the only creatures that can pull off having elongated necks are giraffes -- not people. However no creature has lips on their necks. If people had long necks and low lips, they would look just as ridiculous as Orlando Bloom.
Tip 4: My neck's so small, I don't look small.
The boys in the previous tip had very long necks but these boys have the opposite problem. Smaller necks actually make avatars look short and round. I can definitely say the same for Corbin Bleu.
No one seems to be reading my "Flawed Fashion" articles for depth and insight into Whyville's styles. They are reading the snappy and harsh remarks I make and that's wrong. I'm trying to get Whyvillians to look at my perspective but the comments in the BBS are always the same. So this week I decided to add a 'BBS Bash' section to finally clear my name and make my intentions understandable.
BBS Bash
"You can't improve upon someone's creativity. You can't tell them that the way they're expressing their creativity needs improving on. It doesn't work like that. In my opinion, I'd like these articles to stop. It's doing nothing but making Whyville into a bunch of sheep."--Froggyz
Whyvillians already look like sheep in the sense that everyone is a clone. Most people are following these horrendous and flawed styles just to 'fit in'. Even new members are already placing their lips on their necks because that's what they see everyone else doing. If my article is doing anything, it's letting Whyvillians know that I think the trends are ridiculous.
"It isn't your job to "correct" these so called flaws. We are being stink'en creative and what is the problem with that?!?!?!"--WldFlwer
Nothing is wrong with creativity. In my opinion, I think most Whyvillians looked flawed. But if you are 100 percent confident with your avatar then you should not care what I say. Also most Whyvillians look alike because they're following the latest trends and that is NOT being creative.
I am going to stop focusing on boys and girls separately and look at them in general. Have you ever noticed any fashion labels? For example if someone often wears black they are classified as a goth or an emo. Fashion labels exist on Whyville as well and next week's article will try to combat these stereotypes -- but hey, if Whyvillians don't try out my tips then they will most likely continue with their rude, labeling ways.

Author's Note: Thank you to mokey6 for giving me the idea of using Tyra Banks in my last article, and for using Orlando Bloom in this article. Also 'BBS Bash' might seem like a harsh title however most Whyvillians in the BBS *ARE* being harsh towards me and this series. Readers will probably say that I am being harsh towards Whyvillians' looks but I'm not -- I'm being honest and I actually focus on WHY Whyvillians choose to look the way they do. However the critics aren't focusing on WHY I choose to make my writing blunt.
