Today the Eastern Panther steps up to the plate! Below is a picture of this truly magnificent creature!

Description

The Eastern Panther has reddish brownish fir and tan sides. They weigh between 65 to 130 pounds and grow to be 6 feet in length from there nose tip to their tail, on average.

Diet

Due to deforestation, it is very difficult for the Eastern Panther to find food. Its favorite food is the small Florida Deer. They mostly feed on small mammals, such as rats, raccoons, etc. Because of the lack of food they have been known to eat baby alligators and armadillos.

Habitat

The Eastern Panther is also called the Florida Panther, with that said; you probably know where the Eastern Panthers lives. They are mostly found in swamps, but have been known to live in open plains.

Life Span

Since so few remain, this is unknown.

Life Style

They live in groups of a few; they share what they can find and are very cooperative animals. Not much more is known . . .

Population

Very few Eastern Panthers remain, 30-50 to be exact, and critically endangered. To add to that, they are America's most endangered mammal!

Once again, I hope this animal has captured your heart!
