Last week I began a 3-part mini series about horoscopes. I feel horoscopes and astrology are important because they predict the future. Non-believers think calculations from the stars are stupid and a waste of time. However for years, citizens of ancient civilizations have relied on astrological predictions. Who wouldn't want to know what their future holds for them?
I decided to interview some Whyvillians about their views on horoscopes:
holiday50: Do you ever check your horoscope?
Conorluvr: Uh-uh. It's an on and off thing. I enjoy looking at them, but I would say it's more of a weekly thing.
bcute1215: I read them in the magazines. Monthly.
AmyJo123: Um, not really. Unless I'm really bored.
irg3: Nope.
logan9022: Sometimes.
holiday50: Do you know your sign? If so, what is it?
Conorluvr: I'm an Aquarius.
bcute1215: Sagittarius
AmyJo123: No . . . I forgot.
irg3: Capricorn
logan9022: Taurus
holiday50: Are any of the predictions ever true?
Conorluvr: Yes, most of the time.
bcute1215: Well, yeah a couple times.
AmyJo123: I don't really believe in them because they're not true. They just don't seem realistic.
irg3: I don't know because I don't check my horoscope.
logan9022: One time it was true.
holiday50: How does your sign relate to your personality?
Conorluvr: It usually says: fun, outgoing, and traits like that. So I like to think it describes me.
bcute1215: It says I'm shy and most of the time, I am.
AmyJo123: Yes and no. It says I am shy and I can be shy sometimes. But I am not really shy.
irg3: Yes it does. Capricorns work hard I get really focused on my work.
logan9022: Well I'm very loving. I hear it all the time from my friends that I am loving, and everyone tells me that I'm so sweet.
I want to point out that I am not forcing my beliefs on anyone. Just because I promote horoscopes, doesn't mean I am trying to covert you. Now on to the signs!
Taurus
April 20 - May 20
Taurus are very loving and calm. They are appreciated by their friends for their peaceful personality and loyalty. Taurus always stand up for their friends and rarely betray them. Taurus are very detailed -- they make sure every little thing is perfect, especially about themselves. Sometimes they can be vain because they enjoy looking and feeling their best.
Paying attention to detail makes a Taurus indecisive and slow. When things don't go as planned, Taurus are easily embarrassed. They are also very stubborn.

Being in the spotlight makes them vie for attention and Geminis owe most of their popularity to their stories. However to make things interesting, they stretch the truth too far and tell tall tales. Geminis are also known for being big gossipers. Since their sign is the Twins they are known for having multiple personalities.

Cancer
June 21 - July 22
Cancers have very close ties with their friends and family. They're notorious for being caring and compassionate people. Cancers are always kind and respectful towards the people around them -- especially their friends. They always have the patience to listen to their problems and have their shoulder available for you to cry on.
Cancers give so much love and adoration to their friends that they're hurt if their friends don't have the same level of respect. But they won't tell their friends what they're bothered by, because they are very timid. They dwindle on mean comments and events and keep things bottled up inside. So speak up and let your feelings be known! It's the only way of solving problems.

July 23 - August 22
Leos are supportive of their friends and are appreciative of hard work. Their positive attitude and playful personality immediately attract people to them. You'll find Leos the focus of conversations, because people like listening to what they have to say. Leos are also ambitious and work hard to achieve their goals.
Leos love being noticed. Their magnetic personality makes them stand out of the crowd and when they're not getting as much attention, they start getting angry. Similar to Cancers, Leos want as much support as they give to their friends.
