Summer is near, and you know what comes with summer? Parties! So I thought, why not help people plan the party of their dreams?
A popular summer get together is a movie night. Planning a movie night is fun and easy to do. So read on so you can plan your own.
Snacks
You were probably think popcorn, maybe with some butter. But there are a lot of things you can add to your popcorn. Here are my favorites:
Seasoned Salt: Seasoned salt is cheap, but big in flavor. Just melt some better and slowly pour it over the popcorn so the seasoned salt won't fall to the bottom of the dish. Then sprinkle some seasoned salt on the popcorn, don't use too much. Remember, a little can go a long way.
Powdered Cheese: Just sprinkle some powdered cheese onto the popcorn. It sticks to the popcorn, so no butter needed.
WARNING: You can easily burn yourself with butter, be very careful or ask an adult for help.
Decorations
A movie night can be great without decorations, but they can be fun to make and great to look at!
Invitations: A great idea for movie night invitations is a director's clapboard! Use a piece of cardstock so it will stay up. Draw a line an inch from the top, then draw slanted lines inside the first line. Under that write:
Producer: Your Name
Movie: The movie that will be played
Time: When it will played
Where: The location
Color theme: You don't need to, but I like color themes because it makes everything flow together. A few ideas are: If you are watching an old movie, you could make everything black and white. Or it could be based on the color of the DVD/VHS case. Be creative!
Dress Up!
For some fun, everyone can dress up. For example, girls can have star glasses and a boa, and boys have a top hat and a cane. Again, be creative!
Movie
Last, but certainly not least, is the movie! You can watch old black and white movies, or movies that just came out on DVD! The possibilities are endless, here are a few movies you might be interested in: Nanny Mcphee, Firehouse Dog, Are We Done Yet?, Spiderman 3, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, Night at the Museum, Over the Hedge and The Astronaut Farmer.
Have fun planning your movie night!
