Author's Note: This is in the mind of an adult male. This story may have three or four parts, considered to be a short story.

It was just an average night with all my friends; we were going to watch another movie. I was eager to watch this movie for a long time. We had prepared popcorn, with soda and many other refreshments. My friends that were planning on coming were Joey, Samantha and Sarah. We planned on watching a scary movie, as it was running towards 7 p.m. I mean, who doesn't want to watch a scary movie at night, right? We had all sat down, while Joey began putting the tape in, being his usual helpful self.

My mom was over visiting one of her knitting friends, they were going to make a quilt together. My sister, who is now 19, is off the college. My sister had many problems going on in her life, more than anyone could imagine. My mom was just simply amazing, she did everything for me. Time to stop my thinking, the movie is starting!

Joey had started the movie, and it ran for about 5 minutes before a phone call rang. Samantha, the love of my life, decided she would go get it, since everyone else was so lazy and getting fat off buttered popcorn and soda. She sighed as she got off the couch and went for the phone.

"Hello?" asked Samantha in a sweet voice.

"Yes, I was wondering if I could sell you some . . ."

Samantha hung up on the phone; she didn't like telemarketers very much at all.

"Who was that?" asked Joey in a pleasant voice.

"Oh, just some ignorant telemarketer, when will they ever learn!" answered Samantha.

We just decided to leave that alone and continue watching the movie even more than before. I mean, we were practically glued to the TV screen, you would think we had never actually watched a movie before. I put my arm around Samantha's shoulder, but then noticed that the popcorn was empty, so I decided to go fill it back up. I got up and slowly walked towards the kitchen.

As I was filling the popcorn bowl up again when we heard the phone ring again. I decided this time, I would get it for the sake of Samantha. I reached over and took the phone.

"Hello, Bob speaking!" I said, as I was ready to hang up the phone preparing for another pesky telemarketers.

The room was silent, and so was the person on the phone. All I heard on the phone was deep breathing. Her voice was so still as if she was depressed or had been crying of some sort. I thought she was going to start again. Then the voice began to increase.

"Hello . . ." came an echoing response from the other line. This was no ordinary hello, it was a cry for help.

"I just want to end it all; I've lost something very dear to me."

There was a long pause in between her attempting to speak, even though she was desperately crying for help.

"I'm alone now, and not sure what to do with my actions, I'm going to end it all!"

Then again there was another awkward silence. There was a laugh at the end, but so silent it was almost unhearable. She then hung up the phone.

I was worried; I tried to let it go, but something kept making it come back. The only reason I become more afraid was that knew this voice, it sounded very similar, and I also knew this person was in desperate need for help. As thoughts raced towards my mind I sat down to think of who it was. As I was gathering my thoughts, Joey, of course asked me a question.

"What's wrong, who was that!?" asked Joey as if he was also afraid. There was a long silence in the room.

What will happen next? Who is this unknown caller? Come and read next week when the gang tries to figure out the unknown caller!
