There is a question that haunts me. The question that I can't use a search engine to answer. The question that makes everyone wonder. Can boys and girl just be friends? I couldn't trust my opinions so I decided to ask some others.
Paige026: Do you think boys and girls can be just friends?
SweetMN: Yeah I don't see why they couldn't.
Paige026: So you're saying they can be friends. Why?
SweetMN: I think that they can be friends because they can talk to each other, and find out whether or not they have a lot in common.
Paige026: Do you think this opinion will change over time?
SweetMN: Hmmm, probably not.
Paige026: Do you think boys and girl can be just friends?
Play2live: Of course, I see nothing wrong with a boy and a girl being just friends, I have plenty of friends who are girls myself.
Paige026: So, why do you think they can be friends?
Play2live: Well, why shouldn't boys and girls be able to be friends? It doesn't matter what gender you are, it's your personality that matters.
Paige026: That's sweet. But, Do you think this opinion will change over time.
Play2live: No, but I think the opinion of many first graders that the other gender has cooties will stay the same.
Paige026: Do you think boys and girls can be just friends?
Skookum0: Yes, I do. I have several boy friends that aren't boyfriends.
Paige026: I see. Why do you think they can be friends?
Skookum0: Personal experience. I am not attracted to every boy I hang out with, and not every boy I hang out with is attracted to me.
Paige026: Do you think this opinion will change over time?
Skookum0: Honestly, no. I have been "just friends" with boys ever since I was very little, on up through my preteen years and to my mid-teens, when hormones are high. If I can be "just friends" with boys now, I don't see why it would change.
Well there you have it. Everyone thinks boys and girls can just be friends. And I believe that they can also. Because from preschool to second grade I had a guy friend then I changed schools but now I have guy friends again. But if one person is attracted to the other person then it's a bit harder for you to be friends so make sure you're not attracted to each other (mostly when one of you has a boyfriend or girlfriend).
