Ah, the plate. Otherwise known as "the platter". Or "that thing you eat off of". Whatever you call it, it sure does come in handy.
Not all plates are bright and shiny though. Some lay in the back of your kitchen cupboard, just gathering dust. That's a waste of space and a good plate. Something has to change!
Perfect Plate Plaque
Grab a plate! Choose a very lightweight one, preferably made from plastic. You can find the right kind of paint in a craft store, or use stickers and glue. Decorate however you want - anything from a "Keep Out" sign to a miniature of your favorite painting. Get a foot long piece of cord and fasten both ends to the back of the plate (duct tape or super glue work well for this, but you might want to try something else). Find a nice spot to put up your creation!
Mask Me No Questions and I'll Tell You No Lies
There are no eyeholes in this mask, so make sure to watch your step when you wear it! Use paint or glitter for the background, and the features are up to you. Yarn, buttons, and cloth add a little
dimension to your work. Hold the mask in front of your face if you want to sneak up on someone, or put it on a shelf so it can brighten up a room!
On a Silver Platter
Decorate the plate as you wish. Then use it to hold pencils, notes, accessories, or anything else you want. Tip: If you want to store beads on the plate, glue a pie of fabric onto it so that they won't slide off. With this new storage piece, your working space will be organized and attractive!
And to think that those plates were just sitting in the back of the cupboard!
Anyone who'd like their idea in my next article, please send me a y-mail! It's great hearing your suggestions.
