Welcome back to class, everyone! Last week, we covered note-taking. I hope that you've been very successful taking those notes. This week, we are going to study a very big and important topic . . . studying! This article will cover everything and anything about studying. Now, class, let us begin.

- Use everything you have. When you are going to begin studying, make sure you use everything you have. Handouts, books, and notes. If you don't use everything you have, you might forget to study something important.

- Start early. The ideal way to study is to work a little bit every night. If you cannot study like that, due to time restrictions, then try to begin studying for a test 3-5 days beforehand. If you cram for the test, you will not do at all well.

- Study with someone else. If you can study with someone else, go for it. Be careful though. It is very easy to have trouble studying with another person, because you can get distracted so easily. Study with someone else, ONLY if you know that you can actually STUDY with them.

- Talk to a teacher. Often times, the teacher will tell you what is on the test, so you are not going crazy trying to study everything. Some teachers will even help you study a little bit, or give you little hints. NOTE: I said TALK to a teacher, not BUG a teacher. Bugging a teacher will just give you a one-way trip to least-liked student list. Find out a little bit about your teacher before approaching with test questions.

- Talk to older students. Sometimes, an older student will help you study. This is a good thing, because they have already gone through the grade, and know everything about these topics.

- Talk to your parents. Your parents are a goldmine of knowledge. They will help you study, and maybe even set up a practice quiz for you!

- Make up a game. If you have a really big test coming up, it's sometimes a good idea to make up a game. Make flash cards containing questions and answers, and play a game of trivial pursuit with your family. Or, if you are feeling creative, make a board game to play with. NOTE: Depending on the kind of student you are, it can be a bad idea to do this activity, because it may just lead to procrastination.

- Rewrite/type your notes. I know it sounds weird, but it's actually a good idea. If you want to review, rewrite your notes. While you are writing, you'll actually gain some of that information. NOTE: Do not do this alone. If you are going to use this technique, use it with other forms of studying.

- Find out how you study. The best way to study is to find the best way that you study. It could be one of the above methods, or it could be a completely different way, such as writing some essays, making a movie, or anything else you can think of. Be creative.

I hope that this lesson sticks well in your mind, everyone. It's a lesson that is very important throughout school. Well, good-bye for now, see you next week!
