What do you get when you put a Disney princess in New York City? Quite a movie. I mean Enchanted, of course.

Summary
The tale begins as a cartoon in Andalasia. Giselle lives in a cottage in a forest that she shares with numerous animals. Her life is going great, but she's looking for someone to love. Prince Edward stumbles upon Giselle and saves her from a troll. In true cliche Disney fashion, they instantly fall in love. He too had been looking for someone to share "true love's kiss" with, and they decide to wed the next day.
However, Giselle is tricked and pushed into a magic wishing well by the scheming Queen Narissa, who does not wish to give up her throne.
Giselle soon finds herself in the real world, and is given a big dose of reality as she wanders around New York City. Fortunately, she is found by Robert Phillip. He (reluctantly) gives her a place to stay for a while.
Back in Andalasia, Pip the chipmunk tells Prince Edward what happened to Giselle. He decides to go after her. Queen Narissa convinces Nathaniel to go too.
The only other thing I'm going to say about the plot is that there are quite a few misadventures in New York City, including Prince Edward "slaying" a bus, a giant musical number led by Giselle, and plenty of trouble caused by the Andalasians. As for the rest, you'll have to find out yourself. I was never one for spoiling plots.
My Thoughts
This was a pretty good movie. Here's what I liked about it:
1. It was funny. Giselle and Prince Edward obviously don't belong in New York, and their awkwardness is quite amusing.
2. The actors were great. A movie like this is really going to be hit or miss. It's so cliche, and you really need good acting to pull it off. Amy Adams plays her part amazingly, and her overall performance was fantastic. She really shined in the musical number in Times Square, and that was my favorite part of the movie. As for the rest of the actors, they really portrayed their parts well. You could easily think, "Ooh, that Queen Narissa is nasty!" or "Gosh, Prince Edward is clueless."
3. It kept me amused, and that's always important. There really wasn't a scene where I just wanted to take a snooze.
And yet there were some things I didn't like . . .
1. The plot was way to easy to predict. I was always a couple steps ahead of the plot in my mind. Plot twists were really weren't, well . . . twisty enough. I would have liked to have seen something a little less predictable happen.
2. It was cheesy. On a scale from one to ten (with one being a little bit of shred cheese and ten being an overflowing fountain of cheese fondue), I'd rate this as eleven. The entire aspect was going to be cheesy to begin with, so I should've seen it coming. That doesn't mean I can't dislike it.
In Short
I did enjoy this movie, and I'd highly recommend it as something to watch with your family. If you don't like things that are predicable and/or cheesy, stay away from this film. You will just be wasting your time. Anyways, I'd give this movie 3.5 stars out of five because it was funny, had good acting, kept me amused, and had good effects, but it was cheesy and too easy to predict.
