Power consumption in the United States has never been greater. Currently the country gets 20% of its electricity from nuclear energy. But with the price of oil soaring and increased opposition to coal fired plants, many wonder if America should be more like France, where 80% of the power is nuclear. Americans haven't built a new nuclear plant in thirty years. Now the country sits on the verge of a nuclear revolution. This documentary explores the issue, which according to a recent CNBC poll has the nation divided. It takes viewers on a rare tour inside of a nuclear power plant, to France where nuclear energy is working, and to what may be the future home of the first new nuclear power plant in the United States in over 30 years.

As Kennedy wows the urban crowds with glamour and wit, Humphrey courts the rural vote. Participating behind the cameras were future landmark documentarians Albert Maysles (Grey Gardens), D.A. Pennebaker (Don't Look Back) and Richard Leacock. This is one of the very first documentary films selected for the Library of Congress National Film Registry.

The film transports audiences to the battlegrounds of Little Round Top, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq.

In this documentary a couple in Southern Ontario using local materials built their off-grid home on 65 acres of rolling hills without sacrificing any creature comforts. Beyond the exposed beams and country-chic interiors, the sprawling home features solar thermal tubes, a wind turbine and a swimming pool made from recycled car tires. Next, nestled in the woods outside St. Paul, Minnesota, this grand geodesic dome home can withstand earthquakes, hurricane winds, and tons of snow. Using 60 percent less material than a conventional house, the robust and energy-efficient home features gracious open-plan interiors with 18 inch thick walls, reclaimed wood and non-toxic materials throughout.

For several years, Captain Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society have engaged in a campaign every winter to find and stop Japanese ships that hunt whales in the name of research, attempting to stop them by any non-violent means necessary. In this premiere episode Watson and his 34 international volunteers set sail from Melbourne Australia, but he quickly questions whether they are up for such a dangerous campaign. Immediately after departing, the newbies get slammed with seasickness, capsize a small boat with four people aboard, and permanently damage their helicopter. As the Sea Shepherds spot their first whaling boat, the captain fears their mission is in serious jeopardy before they?ve even begun. Series airs weekly in this time slot.
