"You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say good bye
I say hello."

For every hello, there's a goodbye. Last week we learned hello. Take a guess at what we're learning this week.

That's right, we're learning how to say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in Spanish!

No?

Well, we could always just learn the farewells . . .

Adios
Pronounced: Ah-dee-OHS
There's an accent over the "o," which means it gets the most emphasis. This is a pretty standard greeting - just a simple "goodbye."

Hasta luego
Pronounced: Ah-stah loo-weh-goh
"Hasta" means "until" and "luego" means later. Together they form "until later," but they can also be translated to "see you later."

Hasta pronto
Pronounced: Ah-stah prohn-toh
"Pronto," meaning "soon," has actually made its way into the English language. In English, it is usually used when someone is asking for something (Ex: "I need a new marker pronto") but in Spanish it simply means "see you soon."

Hasta manana
Pronounced: Ah-stah mahn-yahn-ah
There is a tilde (it's pronounced till-day and looks like this ~) over the first "n" in "manana." This represents the "nyah" sound. Hasta manana means "see you tomorrow."

Hasta la vista
Pronounced: Ah-stah lah vee-stah
It means "until we meet again," but we all know this one, thanks to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Believe it or not, the phrase came before the movie - I know, it's shocking.

Hasta la vista, baby!
