"Ground Control to Major Tom!" we heard on our walkie talkies.
"Who was that?" asked Aunt P.
"Major Tom, could you please give us your location?" we said into the walkie talkies, hoping he would reply.
Whoa! That freaked us out! But I'm getting ahead of myself, let me tell you the beginning....
It was a cold winter day. We woke up and were already bored.
"Go outside then, if you're bored," said mom. "Bring the walkie talkies, too," she added.
So we got on our snow pants and our coats and headed out. We were running around in the forest saying things like "Man down!" or "I'm near trees!" into our walkie talkies when Aunt P. said she was going to come walk the dogs (we left a walkie talkie at home for them).
Well, after another half an hour, we were going to go tobogganing when we heard the famous "Ground Control to Major Tom!" Then we started talking to him. At first, I was scared! Apparently this guy had been listening to us for
a half an hour and knew how many of us there were and our names! FrEaKy!
After a bit, though, we became friends. Which leads me to my favourite part of this story: the song!
Ground Control to Major Tom
Starting launching sequence and engines on!
Take your protein pills and put your helmet onnnnnnnnnnn
And, sadly, that's all I remember from my wonderful road trip to Ottawa.
Sad... *sniffle*
But I'll be back!
