PANDEMIC
She took a deep breath
And rose from her chair
As all in the room
Tried not to stare

Heartbeat heightened
She crept to her pride
The hot tears came
And would not subside

One hand on her casket
No words to convey
A heart so broken
A mom in dismay

She whispered, "Goodbye,"
Receiving no answer
For the daughter she loved
Was a victim of cancer
