Hi everybody! It's miley7311, and this week is all about making the transition from summer to winter! It's the time of year when you throw those sandals in the back of your closet and pull out those winter boots! Here is a quiz to find out if your ready for winter:
Are you ready for winter? Take this quiz to find out:
1. Do you know where your jacket is?
2. Do you know where your boots are?
3. Do you have all your winter clothes ready?
4. Do you know where your winter gloves and umbrella are?
5. Do you know where your heavy-duty socks are?
6. Do you have at least two flashlights with fresh batteries, stored in a place where you can find them?
If you answered "yes" to all of these questions then you are prepared for winter.
If you answered "no" to any of these of these questions then you aren't very prepared for a rainy winter.
You should set aside one day to get ready for winter. On this day, set up all your winter stuff in a spot where you'll be able to find it when you need it! I recommend using a box or chest. I also recommend that you hang the jackets and sweatshirts which you use everyday. This can be turned into a craft. You can take a box and decorate it with what ever you want. You can even paint it. Make sure it is big enough to hold all of your winter stuff before decorating it! A lot of the time people just use kids toy chests or boxes from the store. What ever you want. This box should have all the basics such as: boots, scarves, mittens or gloves, etc. Here is a picture of a store-bought one that someone uses for his or her winter gear:
Here are some things you need to do to get ready for winter:
1. Throw those sandals to the back of that closet and move those boots to the front!
2. Make sure you have at least two jackets and/or sweatshirts ready to use for when it rains or snows.
3. Make sure boots are water proof for the rain: most of the time when you buy new boots they're not waterproof be sure to spray them with a special spray that makes them water proof.
4. Make sure you know where an umbrella is because if it's pouring rain then you will need one. Trust me!
5.You should always have two flashlights with new batteries ready whenever you need them because when and if the power goes out you will need to have them at hand.
Once you have done all the above you are ready for winter and for a few more tips I interviewed 7soccer72 about winter here what she said:
Miley7311: What do you do to prepare for winter?
7soccer72: Shop for winter clothes.
Miley7311: Where is the best place to get winter clothes from?
7soccer72: Vans.
Miley7311: What do you do to stay warm in winter?
7soccer72: I wear warm clothes, sit by the fireplace and use lots of blankets.
Miley7311: What do you like about winter? What do you hate?
7soccer72: I like winter because of gifts and I hate winter because it's cold so I can't play outside.
That's all for this week! This is miley7311 signing off once again!
