"You're sure you're going to go through with this?" Adrian tossed my backpack down from our room. "Yes. I'm exposing them and I'm avenging us. Maybe then we'll be let free," I answered. "Your keys are in the bag. Oh, and I hope you don't intend on me coming with you," Adrian tossed a jacket at me and it landed on my face. "Come on! You didn't have to throw things at me while I wasn't looking." "Monique, get out of here. You should probably go now," Adrian said as he tried to muffle a laugh. "I hear you. Alright, I'll be back in a few hours. I'll miss you," I called up the stairs and turned to the door. Suddenly, Adrian leapt from the top of the stairs and landed with a loud thud in front of the door. "You aren't leaving yet," He whispered. "Oh? And why is that?" I challenged. "Because I haven't gotten a hug goodbye. I'll never know when the last time I'll see you is," Adrian muttered. I laughed lightly as I threw my arms around him. He kissed my cheek and I dashed out the door. He laughed at me as I stumbled and bit the dust. "You're better off flying whenever possible!" I threw my car in drive and whipped off.

When I got into town, I marveled at how civilization looked, smelled, and felt. I had been in the middle of the woods for the past week, and it felt great to see complete sunlight. I pulled into this rich neighborhood and felt a wave of unnerving shock. Why had I come? What did I hope to accomplish? This was all for Adrian. My Adrian. I stepped out of my car and walked up to the large brown house, rapping angrily on the door. Marina's sister Vanity answered the door. "Oh my goodness! Monique Duval? You look absolutely amazing!" She nearly screamed. I laughed at Vanity's reaction, I had always loved her. She was actually quite gorgeous, naturally tanned skin, deep brown eyes, and long ebony hair. Her facial features were soft and she always had a faint smile on her face, even when she was angry.

"Van, my last name is Brown. Anyways, can you go get Marina for me?" I asked sweetly. I had this way of getting what I wanted by masking my voice and looking completely innocent. "Oh, Monique, sure! She's in her office. You can go see her," Vanity said quickly. She seemed to have trouble getting getting her words out. I smiled and walked to the office, slowly, to keep from breaking a heel in their plush carpet. When I stepped into the office, Marina looked up and gawked as if I was an alien. "Miss Duval! You look outstanding!" She said as she gawked at me. I sighed. "What's the occasion? New boyfriend?" She asked me as she stood up to get the full view. "No. I'm married, Marina. To someone you killed," I spat angrily. She stared at me. "You weren't supposed to remember," She said coldly as she picked up her nameplate. "You're not going to do much to me if you strike me," I said, a blind rage coming over me. "Oh? You remember your death as well? Doesn't matter much, let me complete the process!" She screamed as she lunged at me. I moved quickly to the side and glared down at her. "You're pathetic," I spat as I stomped her hand. Something popped, and it disgusted me. She screamed in pain. "You broke my hand!" She screeched. I laughed. "You ended mine and Adrian's lives! This is nothing compared to that!" I yelled angrily. Vanity ran into the room, staring at me as I glared down at her sister. "You're killing her!" Vanity screamed as I watched Marina's breathing stop. I didn't know I had mental abilities. I looked at Vanity and sighed. "She killed my Adrian. She killed me," I muttered as I stepped out of the room. I had fifty percent of my revenge, but I needed to get Gisselle back.

When I pulled into the driveway at Gisselle's house, I immediately walked into the door. She sat on the couch, staring at me in disbelief. "You killed Marina! Why? Why would you kill her?" Her eyes were red and puffy, I'd imagine she'd been crying. "You killed Adrian, you and Marina. One down, one to go," I said. She lifted a knife and held it out at me. "I will use this!" She threatened. I laughed for a few seconds. "You can't kill what you've already killed," I said in my calmest tone. I glared at her. She fell to the floor and I stared her down. When her chest quit heaving, I left. I sped away from the crime scene. They have nothing to pin on me if there's no evidence that I did it. And they printed a death certificate on me. The police can't pin something on someone who has been dead for months. There was no way.

"Adrian," I moaned as I stepped out of the car. "What did you do?" Adrian said as he held me in his arms. Tears streamed down my cheeks. "We're avenged." Adrian stopped breathing. "What? You killed them? Monique, why would you do something like that?" Adrian asked me angrily. "Because it doesn't matter anymore. We're both dead because of them! We could be alive, married! Adrian, we could have had a family!" I screamed as I pulled away from him. "Monique, calm down! We have a family, she's waiting for you inside," Adrian said softly. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the house. There was a small, frail child sitting on my couch. Too old to possibly be my daughter. "Alice Adrienne Brown," Adrian said proudly as he lifted the little girl off of the couch. "Why did I name her Alice?" I asked softly. "You love Alice from the Twilight series. You didn't have to name her Adrienne, though. That was just your thoughtfulness." Adrian beamed with joy as he placed her on his shoulders. She smiled at me. "Hello, Alice. Where have you been?" I asked her as I pulled her off of Adrian. Her smile was Adrian's. Her hair hung in dark waves, down past her shoulders. Adrian's hair. She had Adrian's eyes as well. She was like a little feminine Adrian! Why would I believe that this child was mine?

"I've been everywhere but nowhere," She whispered softly. I stared at her in shock. "Monique, she's dead, too. I just resurrected her, don't ask how I did, but she's just like me," Adrian answered for her. I gasped. "They killed Alice? My Alice?" I said angrily. "Our Alice, Monique. And they did, but they didn't. You. . . You were pregnant at the time of your death. Unfortunate circumstances, believe me, but she's here now," Adrian answered me. "How can you resurrect someone who has no body to resurrect?" I asked him softly. "She's. . . Well, a spirit with some sort of density. I didn't know that it would work this well. I thought we'd have a ghost daughter." How was he so calm about this? I held Alice protectively, almost possessively. She was so cold, not breathing, not moving, just relaxed against me. I handed her to Adrian and ran out the door. "Monique, come back here!" He hollered out the door. "I'll come back later!" I shouted back as I kept running. Alice Adrienne Brown? How could I be as so foolish as to not remember that I was a mother? My poor Alice remembered me while I tried to forget her subconsciously. My Alice. I had to go back, but what was the point in being trapped in the middle of nowhere with someone who wouldn't let me be his? With someone who wants a dead daughter;but not a dead wife? There was none. Suddenly, I stopped. I turned around and ran back. "Alice! Adrian!" I screamed as I kept running. Something wasn't right. And I knew what was wrong. Someone who shouldn't be here discovered my Alice. My Adrian. My life as I knew it.
