From the 70's to 2009, your brain hurts thinking what has changed during that time. Well I could go on and on about what has changed, but one topic is Fashion.
I am surly aware everyone knows that fashion changes from year to year. But have you every thought why it changes? One of the reasons is what fashion designers make.
Let's go way back in the past to the 1970's. Mini skirts, bell-bottoms and the androgynous hippie look was a major thing in the 1970's. Not very many people are caught wearing ANY of these now except for the mini skirts.
Mini skirts were usually worn with plaid or just plain colors. "Midis" were mid calf dresses and "Maxis", which were about ankle length dresses, were also worn.
Let's not forget the platform shoes that were 2-4 inches thick. Both boys and girls wore these heavy high heels. Platform shoes could have stripes, animal print, animal skin, or just a solid color.
Bell bottom jeans were also in fashion. These jeans were really popular.
Baseball jerseys were also a BIG hit int he 1970's. These jerseys were very popular among teen and pre-teen boys.
Most women and teenage girls wore their hair long. They would usually side part the hair, or the wavy "gypsy" cut.
Some girls in 1973 wearing some types of mini skirts/dresses.

This is called a "Bell Bottom" jean. This jean was quite popular in the 1970's.
