Are they real? Great Question. Of course ghosts are. Not everybody can see, hear or contact with them, though. Mediums can be very different in how they contact spirits. Theresa, from "Long Island Medium", helps people with their losses and more. When she walks into a store she just does her lip thing (you'll laugh right now if you watch it) then she goes over, introduces her self, then after a few minutes, they are crying. She does it beautifully and really cares about them. Other mediums just say that their dead mother is fine. Wow, I sure feel better now!
Most of the people in the world are not mediums and can not contact with spirits, but some people can see them. I believe children are more open-minded and if they see or hear something, they usually know what it is, while if you are 30 and you look at what that kid is pointing at or talking to you'll probably just stare at a empty wall. Children may not see ghosts but may hear them. Again, in my opinion, you shouldn't try and get rid of your child's imaginary friend, you never know who or what it could be.
See, in my opinion, ghosts are very real, children are more aware of that, though. They might hear something and with nothing around them, but do you know what it is? No, so don't say wind.
Also, if you have ever seen the show "Ghost Adventures" then you know about all the equipment they use. To me, only about 10% of the time they get a voice of a ghost it is real because lots of polerghisits (or however you spell them) perfer to be physical then verbal, some of the people don't even know how to speak. I think that most of the time it is wind, but have you seen some things in their episodes that they don't even catch? Do you know what it is?
How to see spirit orbs (1-100 spirits in one)? Good question. Try video taping a empty room, just leave a recorder on, but don't leave the window or door open. It might attract light and a light could easily look like a orb. In the morning go into the room, stop the tape and watch. What do you see?
